About Me

I am a Ph.D. student under Dr. Gail Davoren and Dr. Jen Zamon at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. My current research focuses on the prey-predator systems in Atlantic Canada and the California Current.

I completed my Master’s of Science in Wildlife Ecology at Texas State University with Dr. Joe Veech December 2016. I was born Houston, Texas but I have spent significant time living in the following cities: Saint Louis, Missouri; Santa Cruz, California; Beijing, China; Austin, Texas; and most recently Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

I am passionate about conservation ecology, specifically conducting quantitative ecological research that informs conservation and policy. I also believe community outreach plays a pivotal role in successful conservation projects.

I am interested in focusing on animals with dynamic habitats, especially seabirds and marine mammals. Broadly, I am interested in examining habitat suitability as a collection of quantifiable spatial and temporal variables.
